It is my great pleasure to introduce to you, on behalf of the Association of Landscape Contractors of Ireland, our Blog and hope that you will find it a convenient source of information. You will find it a useful tool in identifying the right contractor for you as well as specialist suppliers to the industry.

The ALCI was founded in 1971 and currently represents 180 landscape contracting firms throughout Ireland, both north and south. One of the main aims of the ALCI is to promote quality work and service to our clients, to raise standards within the industry and to work with other players in the Horticulture and Landscaping Sector. All of our members are required to pass a rigorous vetting procedure and must commit to our code of conduct. Our members offer a wide range of services from the design, construction and maintenance of small private gardens to large-scale commercial projects, as well as projects for public authorities. ALCI members are committed to providing their clients with the best possible service to suit their needs. We have a countrywide geographical spread and a wealth of experience built up since the foundation of the Association. We also encourage and organise quality training for our members and their staffs.

The ALCI works with other players in the amenity sector, including government bodies, to further the improvement of the industry in general and to work on current issues and challenges facing our industry. We continue to work with the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) and the European Landscape Contractors Association (ELCA) to keep abreast of new legislation and developments in the industry abroad, including environmental issues.
